Welcome to Horst Berger’s Website

This website has many purposes. It started as a professional site with emphasis on design of architectural structures. I am known worldwide for my work in lightweight tensile structures. Therefore I cover this and other topics of architecture, the built environment and sustainability for professionals and interested people in general and add my voice to the ongoing discussion. I published a book and was a teacher of architecture students for many years. This taught me to explain technical materials to a non-technical audience. You’ll find my pages quite readable and my talks and lectures quite understandable.

This page provides links to other sections of this site and to other websites. You reach these by clicking either on one of topics in the box on the left or in one of the boxes on the right. Clicking on the photos on this page will lead to a gallery of tensile structure images.

To buy my book “Light Structures - Structures of Light” from Amazon, click on the top box at the right. The box below will lead you to my formfinding program at no cost, and the box below to my BLOG.

The site also contains photo galleries and personal areas with information that might just have to do with my family or other aspects of my life.

This is a work in progress and will remain so, since I work this website myself. To avoid frustration the active links will appear in blue.

Thanks for visiting the site. Take care.
